Milford Sound is stunning. The valley opens up into a fiord with hugely high peaks that go straight down into the water. We arrived at the end of a sunny day and the light on the peaks was astonishingly beautiful.
Mitre Peak is the highest one, with wisps of cloud looking like steam rising out of a volcano.
We stayed at the famous lodge, fairly rustic, wondering which of other people had actually walked the length of the Milford Track to get here.
After dinner a crescent moon came out. Can you see it?
