Today - whatever day it is or was - we hiked part of the Routeburn Track, one of the Great Walks in NZ. Partway up we diverted and climbed Key Summit, from which the views are 360 degrees of mountains in every direction. It reminded me of Machu Picchu, where I've never been, but you know what I mean.
Lots of waterfalls, of course.
Here we are at the top.
There are tarns on top, and lots of alpine flowers.
This is a hanging lake, Lake Marian, which Alice (who of course has hiked there) tells us is cold and clear and gorgeous.
