Mustering the sheep

So we stayed for two nights at the Braemar sheep station on the banks of Lake Pokeka, in the former sheep shearers' quarters. Our little beds were in front of big windows that looked out on Mt. Cook. Late in the afternoon when we arrived, what should appear but a herd of sheep, two ATVs and some dogs. It couldn't have been more perfect.

Here's one of the guys mustering the sheep in the shadow of Mt. Cook.

And here's the view from our station.

Our little place was tucked next to the lake, amid pine trees, and in sight of Mt. Cook. It could not have been more perfect.

So much more to tell - hiking up to Hooker Glacier, the Kepler Track, the Fergburger - but wireless is limited here, so more anon.
